And this one belongs to the Reds

One day after trouncing the Cincinnati Reds to draw first blood in the “Rumble on the Ohio” 13 to 1, the Reds returned the favor by beating the Cardinals 10 to 3 tonight at the GABP in Cincinnati.

Eric Milton pitched well for the Reds while Ryan Freel made a momentum-changing play in the fourth inning when Albert Pujols hit a laser that was thought to be a double, yet Freel made a diving catch to take away a would-be double and possible runs for the Cards.

A milestone happened in tonight’s game as second baseman Rich Aurilla got his 1300th hit on the strength of his 15th home run of the season in the second inning.

With the loss, the Reds move within three and a half of the Cardinals in the Central standings going into tomorrow night’s game. Aaron Harang (who is on my Fantasy Baseball team) will get the start for the Reds and Chris Carpenter will get the start for the Cardinals in the third game of  a still-crucial four game series.
